Ayutthaya, Thailand: Ancient temples

I visited two ancient temples in Ayutthaya. Both today are Unesco Heritage sites, and are so fascinating. The first one, unfortunately, is in ruins. The second, in comparison, is truly magnificent. Most of the Buddha sculptures have missing heads because it is the most important, and therefore, valuable symbol of the religion. Before the sites were protected, people took advantage of them to sell. The architecture is also very unique, making use of red bricks and natural ventilation without windows.
